What Makes the Underware System So Good?
1. Modular Channels and Enclosures
Instead of relying on single-use zip ties or messy adhesive clips, Underware uses structured, modular raceway channels and brackets. You print the exact lengths and widths you need, clip them together, and route your wires cleanly across the underside of your desk. It keeps power strips, thick power supply bricks, and thin peripheral cables entirely hidden from sight.
2. Open-Source and Fully Parametric
The entire project is open-source. Because the creator released parametric Autodesk Fusion source files (and customizable options on MakerWorld), you can adjust channel lengths, mounting points, and clip sizes to fit your specific table frame or wire gauge. If you have a custom desk dimension or a uniquely shaped power adapter, you can adapt the designs to fit without reinventing the wheel.
3. Flexible Mounting and Ecosystem Options
The system offers versatile mounting options:
- openGrid Integration (Recommended for new setups): The creator updated the core ecosystem to use openGrid tiles. This version prints faster, uses less filament, mounts easily with standard hardware, and gives you total freedom without restrictive licensing.
- Multiboard / Legacy Integration: If you already use Multiboard or similar grid setups under your desk, the legacy Underware profiles snap directly into existing grid layouts without requiring you to tear down your old setup.
- Curved & Table Leg Mounts: Includes special mounting pieces designed to route cables neatly down desk legs or rounded frames.
4. Reusable and Future-Proof
When you swap out a monitor, add a new PC, or rearrange your desk hardware, traditional cable management forces you to cut zip ties and rip off tape. With Underware, you simply unclip the channel covers, reroute or drop in your new cables, and snap everything back into place in seconds.

How to Get Started
- Check Out the Models: Visit the MakerWorld page to inspect the print profiles: https://makerworld.com/en/models/545105-underware-ultimate-cable-management-system-mb#profileId-464000
- Choose Your Base: If you are building from scratch, opt for the openGrid starter channel pack. If you already have a grid wall mounted under your desk, use the legacy Multiboard profiles.
- Print & Assemble: Most parts print cleanly at 0.2mm layer height with standard 15% infill and require zero support structures (except for a few specific leg mounts).
- Route Your Gear: Screw or snap the channels into place under your desk, slide in your power strips and power bricks, tuck the cables into the tracks, and pop the covers on.
